Multisensory Learning

At My Own Mind Tutoring, we believe every student learns differently—and that's something to celebrate. That’s why we use multisensory learning, engaging sight, sound, movement, and touch to make learning stick in a meaningful and memorable way. We build confidence, spark curiosity, and unlock true potential by tailoring each session to fit how a student learns best. We don’t fit students into a mould—we shape learning around them. Because when education is personalised and interactive, it doesn’t just teach—it empowers.

Who is My Own Mind, and why are we here?

Learning is not one way...

My name is Charlotte Knudsen, and I am the director of My Own Mind. As a dyslexic and neurodivergent student, my school years were filled with challenges that often left me feeling misunderstood and underestimated. Traditional learning methods rarely worked for me, and it wasn’t until I began to truly understand how I learn that things started to shift. Learning how to learn became a lifelong, empowering journey—one that transformed frustration into confidence. That journey inspired me to create My Own Mind Tutoring, a space where students are seen, heard, and supported as individuals. I believe every student deserves to understand their unique learning style and be equipped with tools that work for them—not just for one subject or year, but for life. Through personalised, strengths-based support, me and my team aim to help students not only succeed academically but also build a lasting belief in their abilities. Because when students own their minds, they unlock their potential.
